Thursday, 8 May 2025 – Goulburn Racecourse
It was a day to remember for our stable apprentice Dale Cole, who rode his first and second career winners in a milestone double at Goulburn- capped by a dominant on-pace victory aboard the stable’s promising 3YO Chemtrail.
Returning second-up in the 1000m Country Boosted Benchmark 58, Chemtrail bounced quickly from a wide draw and showed sustained speed on the outside of the leading trio before kicking well clear with 300m to go.
Still lightly raced, the son of Cosmic Force was having just his third career start and showed a professional edge to leave his rivals flagging and make it two wins from three career outings.
The victory brought up a remarkable double for Cole, who earlier in the day landed his first winner aboard the locally trained Let’s Go Brandon.
Having worked his way back to race riding after injury setbacks and a long spell away from competition, the breakthrough was a fitting reward for his persistence and patience and a proud moment for the stable.
“Dale’s done a lot of work behind the scenes and to see him come out and get not just one, but two wins on the day is really special,”
“To do it with a promising horse like Chemtrail, who we’ve always had time for, made it even better.”
Congratulations to the owners of Chemtrail — Mr G. L. J. Schweikert, Mr G. Johnston, Mr R. E. Ryan, and Mr S. J. Hall — and to Dale on an unforgettable first winning day in the saddle.
