After a career registering 8 wins, 7 seconds and 9 thirds, the DWR Stable has made the decision to retire our 72 start veteran RENT A ROCK from his racing.
Commencing as a yearling purchase from the 2018 Adelaide Magic Millions – the hardy Fiorente gelding has been a resounding success for the stable and his owners providing many great moments and memories over four years of Country racing with his trademark honest racing style that rarely missed a cheque.
It was his ever willing temperament and toughness that secured this racing longevity in a career which saw him earn back his purchase price nearly eight times over and even have a berth in G1 Spring Champion Stakes at his fifth ever race.
Competitive up to his last start 3rd at Moruya, he was often pitted against his stablemate and traveling companion My Blue Jeans and the pair enjoyed a friendly rivalry as ‘the old boys’ of DWR.
Though bidding farewell to Rocky’s racing around the Southern Districts brings a touch of sadness, there is a greater joy in seeing the 7-year-old ready to turn the page to a new chapter, brimming with possibilities and plenty of life ahead.

The Stable will be taking applications to purchase this faithful gelding and only the very best forever-homes will be considered.
This acquisition comes with the favoured option that Rent A Rock be joined by My Blue Jeans upon his own retirement as the pair hold a deeply established bond.
These are two special horses who have been well educated and well looked after and have many bright days before them.
