You may recall, we broke the news that James Harron Bloodstock was so moved by the untimely, unlucky death of promising youngster HOT’N’HAZY a month or so ago, he vowed he’d buy a horse one day to help the trainer out.
He didn’t know the trainer, Danny Williams personally, but he knew racing, and the folk who partake in it, and sadness, and horses, and what losing a talented racehorse means to a trainer, particularly a bush trainer.
Well, roll forward to today.
Harron drove down to Williams’ Goulburn-based stables to introduce himself to the trainer and plot a course of action.
And Williams, who has landed 8 winners from his last 50 starters and who has a great chance in the first at Randwick on Saturday with RENT A ROCK (Fiorente-Rock Of Ages) welcomed him, then showed him around the complex.
After that, they had a refreshment, talked tactics over purchasing and concluded that the Inglis Ready To Run Sale would most likely be the place the Hot’N’Hazy promise is consummated.
That sale, for 2YOs starts at the Riverside Complex at Warwick Farm on 20 October.
Already TV personality Tim Gilbert has put his hand up to buy a share of whatever these great horsemen decide they will purchase.
